Terms of Use

Verso is published by Miguel Ridruejo Mendoza, a sole trader established in Spain (NIF 02585581J), Calle de Travessera 44, 08021 Barcelona, Spain — hello@versobible.com. "We" and "us" below mean him.
These terms cover your use of the Verso apps for iPhone and Android, Verso on the web (app.versobible.com), this website and the Verso Plus subscription. By using Verso you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Verso on devices you own or control, for your own reading and study. You may not resell the app, copy its content in bulk, reverse engineer it, or use it to build a competing product.
Bible text
The translations bundled with Verso are in the public domain: the Berean Standard Bible, the King James Version, the World English Bible, the Catholic Public Domain Version (placed in the public domain by its translator; on iPhone), the Reina-Valera 1909, the Biblia Libre Latinoamericana and the Biblia Libre para el Mundo (the last two are drafts under review at eBible.org, on the web and on Android, and on iPhone from version 1.1; on iPhone, both also come in Catholic editions with the deuterocanonical books, from the same public-domain drafts). They are attributed in the app under Settings → Attributions.
Verse studies and other written content
Study content, reading plans and Discover cards are written with the help of an AI model, checked automatically before they appear, and provided for study and reflection. They are not infallible and they are not a substitute for Scripture itself, for your own reading, or for the teaching of your church. If something reads wrong, tell us and we will correct or remove it. This content belongs to us and is licensed to you for personal use.
Answers in Ask the Bible are also written by an AI model, when you ask: a short framing and Bible verses chosen for your question, whose text comes from the translation on your device. Like studies, they are not infallible. They are not pastoral, medical, legal, financial or other professional advice, and Verso is not a counsellor. If you are in danger or thinking of harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or someone you trust. What you type in a question is sent to our AI provider to answer it (see the Privacy Policy).
Your content
Notes and prayers you write, verses you save and plans you build are yours. They stay on your device and in your own backup (iCloud on iPhone, your Google account's backup on Android), and, if you sign in to a Verso account, on our server so they sync between your devices. We claim no rights over them and use them only to show them back to you. What you post in Community is covered below.
Community
Community is optional, needs a Verso account and is for people aged 13 and over. You're responsible for what you post, your profile photo included. Follow the Community Guidelines (in the app): be kind and on topic; no harassment, hate, sexual content, violence, threats, spam, selling or sharing anyone's private information. There is zero tolerance: we remove content and ban accounts that break them, without notice. Report content or people in the app; we review reports within 24 hours. Group leaders can remove messages and members in their groups. We may remove any content or group at our discretion. Don't use Community to contact minors or to move people to other apps.
Posts from "Verso", shown with the seal, are written by us (a daily prompt and a welcome in each official group); that profile is not a member and never poses as one.
You keep the rights to what you post. You give us permission to store it and to show it to the members of the groups where you post it, for as long as it stays there.
Verso Plus subscriptions
- Reading the Bible in Verso is free. Verso Plus unlocks the verse studies (every type, for every verse), all reading plans and custom plans, the full Discover feed, Ask the Bible, Scan a verse, every verse-image style and pinning a verse to the widget.
- Current prices: $59.99 per year with a 7-day free trial, or $9.99 per month. Prices are in US dollars and vary by region; the price and billing period are always shown before you buy.
- In the iPhone app, payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
- In the Android app, Verso Plus is sold through Google Play, under the Google Play Terms of Service, and payment is charged to the payment method in your Google account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel; a free trial becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel it before. Manage or cancel it in the Play Store app (your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) or from Verso (Settings → Verso Plus → Manage subscription); you keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies (see Refunds & Cancellation).
- On the web (app.versobible.com), Verso Plus is sold by our reseller Paddle.com, the merchant of record for those orders, under Paddle's buyer terms. It renews automatically until cancelled; cancel any time from Verso on the web (Settings → Verso Plus → Manage subscription) or the link in your Paddle receipt.
- A subscription bought in any of these ways unlocks Verso Plus wherever you sign in with the same Verso account. Changing plan during a free trial may end the trial; Apple, Google Play or Paddle show what happens before you confirm.
- We may change prices for future periods; existing subscribers are told in advance.
Your Verso account (optional)
You can use Verso without an account. If you create one, you sign in with a code sent to your email; keep access to that email safe, as it is how you get into the account. You can delete the account at any time in the app, on the web or by writing to us (see Delete your Verso account); deleting it does not cancel a subscription. Acceptable use
Do not use Verso to break the law, to interfere with the service or its servers, or to attempt to access other people's data. We may suspend access that damages the service or its users.
Availability
Reading works offline. Studies, Discover, Ask the Bible and Community need a connection and depend on our servers, which we may change, interrupt for maintenance, or discontinue. We aim to keep the app working and to give notice of significant changes, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Disclaimers and liability
Verso is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud. Nor does anything here limit your rights under consumer law. If you are not acting as a consumer, and where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. We tell you about material changes in advance, in the app and on this page. If you have a subscription, a change applies from your next billing period, and if you don't accept it you can cancel before then; nothing already paid for changes.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence. Purchases in the iPhone app are also subject to Apple's Media Services Terms, purchases in the Android app to the Google Play Terms of Service, and purchases on the web to Paddle's buyer terms, including any right of withdrawal they provide.
