Delete your Verso account
Last updated 10 October 2026
This page explains how to delete your account in Verso: Daily Bible Study, the Bible app published by Miguel Ridruejo Mendoza, and what happens to your data. An account is optional: if you never signed in, there is no account to delete, and your library is only on your own devices (see "What is not deleted" below).
In the app, on iPhone or Android
- Open Verso and tap the gear on Home to open Settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Confirm. The app tells you first that deleting the account doesn't cancel a subscription, with a link to manage it.
On the web
Sign in at app.versobible.com, open Settings and, under Account, choose Delete account, then confirm.
Without the app: ask us by email
If you can't use the app or the web, write to hello@versobible.com from the email address you sign in with, asking us to delete your Verso account. If you write from another address, we will check with the account's address before deleting anything. We delete the account and confirm by email within one month at the latest, and usually within a few days.
What is deleted
Deleting the account removes the following from our live servers at once, and from our database backups when those backups expire:
- Your account and its email address.
- Your synced library: saved verses, bookmarks, notes, saved studies, reading plans and their progress, chapters read, the days you opened Verso, your prayers, your daily reading progress, the milestones you've earned, your daily goal, your reading position and the other settings synced with the account.
- The Ask the Bible usage records made under your account (when a question was asked, with a one-way code; never the question or the answer).
- Your sign-in sessions on every device, and any sign-in codes and records of codes typed for your address.
- The subscription record we keep for your account (whether Verso Plus is active, until when and where it was bought) and the purchase notifications our payment provider sent us for it.
- If you joined a community group in Verso: your community profile is deleted, you leave every group, your reactions are removed and the text of your posts is erased (a thread shows that a post was deleted). If someone reported one of your posts, a copy of it stays with that report for moderation, without your name or handle, and is deleted 180 days after the report is resolved. An email about the report already sent to our moderator isn't changed.
It can't be undone. If you sign in again later with the same email address, you start a new account.
What is not deleted
- The copy on your devices. Verso keeps your library on the phone, so you can keep reading; deleting the app removes it. On the web, it is kept in your browser; clearing the site's data in your browser removes it. On iPhone, delete Verso's iCloud data from Settings → Apple Account → iCloud; on Android, the copy in your phone's backup is kept by Google with your Google account's device backups.
- Your subscription. Deleting the account doesn't cancel it: cancel it first where you bought it, in your Apple Account settings, in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) or in Verso on the web. See Refunds & Cancellation.
- Records kept by Apple, Google and Paddle. They keep their own records of your purchases, under their own privacy policies and the law (for example, tax rules).
- Our payment service's history. RevenueCat, which tells us whether Verso Plus is active, keeps the purchase history linked to your account identifier (and, for purchases on the web, your email address). It isn't deleted with the account: write to us and we will have it deleted.
- Ask the Bible usage records made before you signed in, under the app's anonymous subscription identifier: they can't be tied to your account, and are deleted within two days like every such record.
- Server logs (IP address, time, the path requested): deleted within 30 days.
- Emails you sent us: kept as long as needed to deal with your request, and no longer than 24 months.
No account, but subscribed?
Without an account, the app uses an anonymous subscription identifier. If you want the subscription record tied to it removed, write to hello@versobible.com and we will remove it.
