A free Bible app you read one verse at a time
Verso opens the Bible on a single verse. Swipe for the next, and keep going through a chapter, a book or the whole Bible, in order, without a wall of text in front of you. Reading is free, works without a signal and remembers your place. Read on the web today, on any phone or computer; the iPhone app is on its way to the App Store.
What is free, for good
The Bible itself is never behind a paywall. Every translation in Verso is free to read: the Berean Standard Bible, the King James Version and the World English Bible in English; the Reina-Valera 1909 and the Biblia Libre in Spanish; and Catholic Bibles with all 73 books.
Free too: saving verses, notes and bookmarks, synced between your devices; three beginner reading plans; a daily goal; Home Screen widgets; a prayer journal; and a book of classic prayers. Verso shows no ads.
Made for a few minutes a day
Choose how many verses you want to read each day. Five is a fine start. A ring fills as you read, the week shows how each day went, and one reminder a day comes at the time you pick. Most days, the habit takes less time than a coffee.
Stop on a verse to save it, write a private note, or turn it into an image to send to someone. See today's verse.
It works offline
The Bibles live on your phone, so Verso reads on a plane, in the mountains or in a church basement with no signal. Your notes and saved verses sync when you're back online.
What Verso Plus adds
If you want to go deeper, Verso Plus gives you a study for every verse you read: what it means in plain words, its history, the original Hebrew or Greek and where to read next. It also opens every reading plan, lets you build your own, and adds Ask the Bible and Scan a verse. Plus starts with a 7-day free trial on the 6-month plan. See the prices.
