Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Text: Book of Common Prayer (1662), public domain.

In Latin

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.

About this prayer

A short hymn of praise to the Trinity, known as the lesser doxology. Its first line goes back to the early Church; the second, 'as it was in the beginning', was in use in the West by the sixth century. It closes each psalm in the daily office of many traditions and each decade of the Rosary.
