About this prayer
The words St Faustina Kowalska (1905–1938), a Polish sister, was asked to have written beneath the image of the merciful Jesus first painted in Vilnius in 1934. They are prayed as a short aspiration, often repeated through the day in worry or temptation, and many people end the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with them.
